The inaugural use of a Chartered Physiotherapist was deemed a success!
Scotland turned on its charm with 6 days of glorious blue skies and sun; of course the midges and ticks had their say!
I was definitely kept busy by the participant’s with my day starting at 5 am and often not finishing until after 10pm (that included time to help taking down and putting back up the camp from site to site along the route). As a part of the medical team we dealt with blisters, some cases of hypothermia (typical Scottish weather for the first 2 days) and then mainly lower limb overuse injuries. Thank goodness for K-Tape!!
Some participants were able to run/walk the 400km, others walked and hobbled their way meeting checkpoint time cut offs from Fort William to Cape Wrath. The apocalyptic walk of the zombies was a sight to behold as the runners made their way home after the race!
If you are tempted to even think about becoming any kind of runner from Park Run to eventually an Ultra, come and book an appointment with Morag to help release your full potential.
